Bathroom Renovations Planning

Some of the key things to consider when planning your bathroom renovations are:

	Who in the family will be using it
	How many people will be using it
	Whether to keep the toilet separate
	The type of shower mixer, vanity basin, and taps to use
	What water pressure you have

When starting your bathroom renovations visit to your local bathroom showroom will help you come up with ideas about what you’d like to do. We’ll also make sure the items are suited to your water pressure and an additional benefit is that if something goes wrong with the products we’ll put them right.

Damaged or cracked sealing around baths, showers and vanities

This is were the sealant (often rubbery substance) has come away from one of the surfaces such as the wall or bath etc. If left like this, water gets in and can cause serious water damage to walls, floors and cabinetry.

The damage may not be obvious until it becomes serious. If water has got in behind the cabinets or through to a wooden floor then they can become mouldy and damaged.

Another place to check for this damage is in corners of the room or where lino meets shower or bath edges. Water can run under these edges if not properly seeled and damage the floor and walls.

A little bit of preventative maintenance now could save you from having to replace a vanity unit or even your bathroom or laundry floor or walls.

Laundry Renovations

Washing machines Tips

	Check water filling hoses for wear and damage (especially where they may rub against metal edges) and look out for corroded fittings. Worn hoses could burst at any time and corroded fittings suggest the hose has leaked or is leaking now. Call in Ross's Plumbing to replace worn or damaged hoses and fittings.
	Check that the washing machine is sitting level on the floor and any wood floor is not mouldy or soft. This will help balance the loads and minimise vibration and prolong the life of the machine.
	Check that the tub the waste water is emptied into is not blocked, as this can easily cause a flood.
